Our Story

Nadine and Scott’s love story began in the summer of 2017 in the Bay Area, at the oh-so-romantic offices of General Electric. It was Nadine’s first day at her new job, right out of college, and she instantly developed a crush on the charming guy on her team with cool hair and a blue convertible. When Scott noticed that Nadine’s obligatory team email introduction mentioned karaoke as a hobby, he struck up a conversation (as a fellow karaoke enthusiast himself). Pretty soon they were talking every day, which eventually led to the most fun first date ever - dinner followed by a late night of karaoke (with all of their coworkers...oops.)

When Nadine left for New Orleans in February 2018 for a work assignment, she and Scott were sad to have to do long distance, but were also both excited to spend time together in the city during his visits. Together, they celebrated Mardi Gras, enjoyed Jazz Fest, ate lots of crawfish, strolled along Bourbon and Frenchmen Streets, listened to and danced to live music, watched people from all walks of life come together, and just fell more in love with each other. They would often pass by energetic wedding parades and loved watching brides, grooms, and guests happily waving around their parasols and umbrellas. Nadine always dreamt of one day doing that with Scott at their own wedding.

In the 6 years since then, Nadine and Scott have moved together from Atlanta, to San Francisco, to Seattle; adopted two cats - Rex and Rosie; survived a global pandemic (and each other - in a small one-bedroom apartment); explored, adventured, and traveled the world. They often reminisced about their days in New Orleans and talked about going back, but never got around to it.

On June 8, 2024, while hanging out in Seward Park and admiring a beautiful view of Mt. Rainier and Lake Washington, Scott insisted on getting someone to take a picture of them (which made Nadine a bit suspicious...) and then Scott got down on one knee and popped the question. They were both so excited to spend the rest of their lives with each other.

When they started thinking about where to get married, they went back and forth thinking about all of the places that were special to them, but they eventually came back to New Orleans as the obvious answer. New Orleans was where they fell in love, and they want to celebrate and share their love in the city that captured their hearts. They hope that you will fall in love with it too.
