At that time of year, the weather will probably be mid-80s during the day and low 80s or 70s in the evening. There is always a chance of rain, although it's usually just a light sprinkle! It will also probably be pretty humid.
What is a Second Line Parade?
A Second Line Parade is a New Orleans wedding tradition where the bride and groom parade through the streets with a brass band and the guests behind them! Per tradition, we will have handkerchiefs for you to wave and to-go drinks for you to hold (it's legal)! (We will have non-alcoholic options too!) Please be warned though, that the streets in the French Quarter can be a bit dirty and uneven so please wear somewhat comfortable shoes. If walking in the parade is a problem for anyone, please let us know and we can reserve a pedicab! We are so excited to parade with you!
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be outdoors in the courtyard of the Pharmacy Museum. The parade will be outdoors in the streets. The cocktail hour will be indoor-outdoor between an indoor bar area and the courtyard of Brennan's. Dinner will be indoors, and dancing will be outdoors in the courtyard.
What should I wear?
The dress code will be cocktail/semi-formal. (Some examples: cocktail dress of any length; suit and tie; sports coat). You are totally welcome to dress more formal than that if you wish! One thing we love about New Orleans is that people are not afraid to express themselves - so if you want, please feel free to wear something as bold and bright as you are! (Fun patterns, bright colors, bold accessories, etc!)
Can I bring my kids?
We love your kiddos, but we are keeping this to adults only (with the exception of immediate family).
Can I bring a +1?
When we send out invitations in August, if a +1 has been included for you, their name will be listed on the envelope. If you’d like to check in beforehand, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to clarify!
